I bought a used 2005 chevy tahoe with only 4000 miles. the rear passanger tire blewout within a few days on the highway. It was replaced and all damage was fixed under warranty. They put the new tires on the front, installed the fronts to the rear. there was an appearant shake in the rear end a few thousand miles later. We brought them back had them replaced again. once again, new ones on front slightly used ones on the rear. I believe we had them replaced one last time and it was ok for about 10,000 miles. There was an appearant shake in the front at that point. but now, the rear tire has began to bubble terribly. its going to blowout very soon. This time it is the rear driver side tire. yet before the tire was severly bubbled, all the shaking was in the front.
has anyone had any type of similar problems? i dont feel safe with all these tires wanting to blow out. The tire pressure light used to frequently come on as well. my warranty is now up, and this tire problem is going to get real expensive. I was going to upgrade the tire, but i dont want another 800 in tires to be destroyed fairly quickly because something is wrong. The dealership claims the truck is fine. any help would be appreciated.

its a 2005 tahoe z71 and has goodyears on it currently, im not sure which ones (im assuming the stock tire setup but i did get it slightly used)
I thought it may have been in an accident, i guess it was never registerd it was just driven between two dealerships.

to the forums!...

I actually had the same situation when I bought my hoe it was used from the police dept. so it had good year on also ... they bubbled on my left side i got fed up with the tires so i changed to a diiferent brand never had the bubbles back

Having a blowout on the highway with these tahoes are one hell of a scary situation ..these tires are big.Glad that everything went ok ... as for the tires give the dealership the bird and go get a better set of tires ..theres a couple people here that are really good and i'm sure they will chime in on what brands to look for .... I'm using myself Uniroyal all terrain all season had them on the truck for 38k now and never had an issue ....

good luck :)

And did you check your tire pressures when the warning light came on? Underinflated tires can cause these problems.

X2 and also make sure you have the sensors tight in the rims..if they are loose they will give yah the trouble code ..think it was a 13mm deep socket
