Rear Shock air pressure line removal

I replaced my rear shocks on my 07 Escalade this afternoon. It was a very straightforward process except for the air pressure line. I was able to rotate it 90degrees and pull the plug plug out but the line is still attached to the shock. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
