Re-programming Key fob (2007) to erase old code?

Someone walked off with my keys yesterday, and included the keyless entry/remote start fob for my 2007 Tahoe. They could easily walk around and find my car using it, and either break in, or steal it. I live in a small ski town and they know where I work, I believe the keys were taken from my office.

I have read the thread on how to re-learn a key-fob using the jump wire, my question is...does this change the code on the fob, rendering the old one inoperable? Obviously, I want to make sure I disable the old fob if possible.

probably not. you will have to find somewhere with the capability to reprogram the security module for a different coded key. and it gets pretty pricey. but well worth it since your truck is on the line....
