Ran out of gas

My wife ran my 2004 yukon 5.3Liter out of gas and it killed my battery. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key but I have to jump the battery with my car and the engine cranks but will not start. Is this a computer issue or a fuel pump issue? Why did my battery suddenly die? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the fuel pump is gas cooled so she may have burned that out when you were on fumes. or trying to start with out fuel. TRYING TO SAVE SOME MONEY AND GET TOWED INSTED OF FILLING UP THE TANK, HUH :lol:

my have air in the fuel injection lines needs to be bled
