Ive got 2011 base model tahoe. I put in Pionner 2400 dvd head unit, Polk audio DB components and a alpine 550 amp. I didnt get to the rear doors yet so they are not connected.

I used the GMOS 100 all in one to bring everything together. When I turn on the key the led was flashing but never turned solid and it kept shutting off the radio. I unplugged the SWC from the radio and it stays on but i get a horrible robotic noise coming from the speakers. This is with the engine off. With the engine on i still get the robotic noise and i also get alternator whine.

I mounted my amp under the rear seats and drilled a hole in the floorboard and sanded paint and grounded it there. I didnt use the seat bolts cause my ring terminal is too small

I was wondering if its my ground causing the troubles? Could i have a bad GMOS?

Turns out that it was my RCA's that was causing the robotic static noise. Still got the alternator whine when the engine is runninng. Seems that the floor and also the seat bolts are not good enough ground points.

RCA's from what? I have a alpine inez928hd in my 2011 suburban. When the radio is on, I do get that static noise. Not noticeable if the radio is turned on high volume, but if your listening to it softer or talk radio, you can hear the static as well. Which RCA's fixed the problem?

I had the static noise when the engine was off. The Kicker RCA's that I bought from best buy seem to be the cause. If I use the RCA's that came with the amp install kit, which is kicker btw, then the noise is gone. I still have the alternator whine. Gonna mess with that this weekend.

Do you have static with engine on and radio volume turned to zero? I get static at low volumes, probably higher too, the music just drowns it out.

now i just have the alternator whine with the engine on regardless of radio volume. It is my wife's truck so she wont be playing the radio too loud, so i need to try to get rid of it. I just need to find a better ground i guess.
