I just bought a 2003 Z71 Tahoe. It's in great shape, no rust and everything works properly...except the locks.
The front doors work fine, every time. The rear doors and tailgate however, are a different story. Sometimes they unlock and sometimes they don't. All three work together - they either all unlock, or don't. It's never just one or two.
The Tahoe had an aftermarket remote starter installed previously and only had the aftermarket remotes. I thought this might be the issue as the starter function didn't operate properly so I unhooked it. I bought a new oem remote, programmed it and all was well. Well, the back doors started acting up again tonight.
It doesn't seem to matter whether I use the driver door switch or the key fob, or if it's set to Driver 1 or Driver 2. It just seems to be completely random.
Any thoughts, comments, suggestions??
