Possibly buying my first tahoe! help me out

Hey guys, thinking about picking up an 02 tahoe from my buddy as a daily driver for the winter time here. Truck has 155000 miles on it and seems mechanically sound. Has the cold start knock/slap which does concern me. srs light and check engine light is on he said it was for tps. Truck has a cowl hood,intake,exhaust and a few other goodies like a nice stereo system and leather. He is firm on the price of 4000. Do you guys think that is a decent deal? Does the truck stilll have life left in it? His dad was the original owner and then it was passed down to him. I know he drove it hard at times but stilll seems to run good. Help me out with some input guys!!

Hey Rimple, in same boat as you, but I made the plunge. Just took home a 03 Tahoe with the 5.3 liter. Same miles, 155k. Same check engine light. I haven't figured mine out yet, was going to drive it down tomorrow and have codes read. I traded a 69 olds 88 for the Tahoe, and I had about 4k in it. Dunno if 4k is about right, for Vegas its about the going price, maybe someone can chime in....
