I am debating on purchasing an 07 Tahoe LT. It currently has 88,000 miles on it which is my one concern for the purchase. How long can I expect the car to last without truly knowing the past maintenance performed. Granted 88,000 miles on a 8 year car is under the yearly average of driving per year, but i need this to last at least 5 - 6 more years after i make this purchase.
Of those on here with 07 models, how high have your miles gotten so far? Any common problems/concerns i should look towards?

My other 2 choices are a 2010 explorer eddie Bower with 66,000 miles or a 2011 nissan pathfinder with 42,000 miles.

All of the cars are all within $1500 of each other, so relatively the same amount.

I am leaning towards the Tahoe, but always have that thought in the back of my mind with this hitting 100,000 before any of the others.

100,000 miles isn't a milestone anymore...vehicles are lasting much longer with fewer problems and 250k-300k is not out of the ordinary today...

best you can do is check for signs of poor maintenance....look for brown stains on the oil fill cap and dipstick indicating extended oil change intervals and varnish/sludge buildup....smell all of the fluids for signs of previously burnt conditions....inspect the cooling system for signs of rust stains, etc....get a good look underneath for evidence of damage....look at the edges of carpeted interior areas for water stains or mud marks indicating possible flood damage....and take it out for a meeting with jesus run from hell to see if any quirks show up...

I just purchased a 2007 with 77k miles on it and it was practically in showroom condition save for some minor body dings that are part of everyday life...runs like a top and other than the requisite speaker replacement I couldn't be happier and look forward to many years of service....compared to the average 120k milesfor a vehicle that age it was a newborn....

expect an occasional problem....things still go wrong and there will be money spent here and there as components just plain wear out...but the days of worrying about 100k miles are long gone....

good luck...
