I think it is more of a question of whether you use it off road or not.

I think these trucks look a lot better lower than stock. Just a subtle 2 to 3" is enough to bring out their personality.

What good is a wheel well, if the wheel doesn't reach it. :)

Personally, I don't get why people would lower a truck, and I would never do it. But I use mine on and off road. If I only used it on the street I would still not lower it, but that's my personal preference. If you prefer the looks after lowering it, then it's your rig. If it's 2wd, I can sort of see lowering it if that's the look you like.

I lowered mine to gain better cornering ability. I'm not talking "slamming", just getting the center of gravity a bit lower.

Then again, my Hoe is closer to a hot rod than a utility truck. It is all go and no show. I have several other trucks to haul cargo, so the 95 is only used for hauling A$$.

Not to Low

First post...here's my 2 cents...I'm going with the subtle 2 inch all around drop, not slammed like my buddy's 2 door...(yes we have 2 custom Tahoe/ Yukon's in my small town:thumbsup:)...Tough choice though...spent a lot of time building 2wd pre runner's back in the day...

Well, If Im being honest. I like the looks of both lifted AND lowered trucks. I read Truckin' magazine quite a bit, and its the same ol crap every issue, but man... every feature truck I always say the same thing "If I had that kind of cash, I would so totally do that to my ride".... 12" lift and all the powdercoating, or 'bags and tucked 24" colormatched wheels.
Custom is custom. and Its all cool.

(in the poll, I voted lower, cause I RARELY take my truck off the pavement)

lowering a 4x4 kinda takes the 4x4 thing out of it doesnt it? I mean whatcha gonna do with that big bad rig when the snow hits if its lowered? silly if u ask me. im gonna jack it up and save the body. wanna have a lowrider, go by a old impala.

dude. seriously, there is something in your tone lately that doesnt come across well. It happened with the comments that you made to sasquach, and I have seen it in other posts too. working with the written word, things sometimes are lost, tones misunderstood etc..
when you put up a poll, your asking for peoples opinions, and thats what you get. for me, i lowered my truck for the look, and actually I think it steers around corners better now. the 4wd is still functional and it still drives well in the snow. even with my radials.
if I posted a poll about lifting and got a bunch of dudes with lifted trucks that responded, I wouldnt chime in later about their comments. how would you feel if i made ( what I felt was) a seeimgly inoccous comment like, " i dont understand why you guys lift your tahoes and put big tires on it. If you wanted to ruin your gas mileage and put extra stress on your drivetrain, why dont you just go buy a farm tractor" how do you think that would come across?

its not why we're in this forum. we're here to help each other and talk with each other. and Im sorry if I upset you with this post.

hey dude... how can my tone be determined over the posts ive made? i ripped sasquatch because he got way outta pocket. Im just stating were i stand. Not to mention that it sort of defeats the purpose of a 4x4 to lower it. do what you want, but let me state were I stand without you judging me, or coming to the conclusion that Im somehow mad at the world.
I know what this forms about, its to help fellow tahoe members. But who made you god to judge if my comments are right or wrong? What is it youve noticed that seems to piss you off so much? because I state were I stand on certain issues? grow up. im here to help just as much as the next guy. Guess you no were I stand now:shhh: think you simply are mistaken thinking im somehow hostile or mad at people in this forum. this forum is great. but dont try and judge how or what im feeling.:eek2:

I didnt rip you, judge you,or think your mad at the world, and I dont think I'm god.

It seems that you are upset by what I said. I leave it at that, and re-apologize.

Not to mention that it sort of defeats the purpose of a 4x4 to lower it.

How do you figure? 4x4 just puts power to all 4 wheels. if you lower it, i don't see how this can limit the trucks ability to put power to all 4 wheels. he said he uses it for the winter. most of the time this would be icy roads, not offroading to go around the snow. at the same time, with a lower center of gravity, it seems to me like the most likely thing would be more control of the vehicle. now don't take this the wrong way, i did say i would lift MY 4x4, but i also live in florida and the only time it sees power to the front wheels is when its in the mud.

i gotta say as for the 4x4 i just need it for traction in the snow im not looking to go thru 3 feet of it i mean a tahoe even with a simple 2 inch or 3/2 drop still has plenty of clearance ...and the handling is definately a bonus
