Unless you want to be a slave to your wheels, stay away from anything thats Polished. Ya want a cleared, chromed or painted finish. Polished aluminum will dull and you'll be a slave to them as far as keeping them glossy. I can tell you from experience they are a horror. At least 45 mins in labor for each wheel, depending on how bad you let them go.

I agree with Chrome or Painted if buying rims. However my little yard truck has American Racing Baja wheels and they are uncleared aluminum. They look like new and I spend less then 15 mins a wheel.. The secret is the Mothers Power Ball that goes on the end of a drill. Works great!! Wheels are perfect and does a better job then doing them by hand.

Yeah it sucks because I live in Hawaii & the salt air is horrible... chrome doesn't last too long here. I wonder if there is some sort of treatment to prevent chrome from wearing???

Salt and chrome do not make for a healthy combination. They will eventually pit and maybe peel too.

What do you guys think of velocity wheels??? Are they good quality wheels? I think they're chrome, but I've found some styles I like.
