I drive a 2015 Police Tahoe. I don't know if Chevy put much thought into what officers need in the field, but when I turn off my headlights the dash lights fill the cabin with light. This is a tactical nightmare. It makes it very hard to drive with my headlights off. I would not suggest the general public driving anywhere with no headlights, but it is very important for an officer, or Deputy Sheriff in my case, to be able to black out, and pull up to a building / residence and not be blinded by my instrument cluster, and good time radio lights.
Does anyone know how to turn these lights off? I am considering turning them off all together, but I'm sure the shop would have a hard time with that kind of modification.
On another note. This 2015 is hands down double the truck that my 2014 was, and it is a better police vehicle than the Fords that the Sheriff is buying now. We would have stayed with Chevy, but they priced themselves out of most small agencies budgets.
