Park Brake/Unkown problem

I have a 97 2 door tahoe and recently had an remote start installed a couple of moths ago and their is this annoying problem where when I start the vehicle or remote start it then get in the car and try to get out of park it just gets locked into park. I dont know why but I have to just sit in the car untill it gets unlocked from park. cant go into any other gears its really pisses me off when I need to get to work or school and being late because of it, any one know or have this problem??? Also I am pressing on the brake when trying to shift gears.

there is a a rod the is under the dash that connects to the brake pedal it controls the parking lock i've heard of people that have had the same problem as you and disconnected it.the only problem with that is your truck could be shifted without stepping on the brake but then again thats what you want.
