I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ, 4X4 5.3 Flex. A couple of months ago the oil sending unit went out, I was getting zero oil pressure. The only way I could get my fat hand back there was to move the intake out of the way. I left the fuel rails intact, just moved the intake forward just enough to be able to reach. Boom, fixed. Clicked the intake gasket back on and tightened her down.
Now my check engine light comes on for a few days then goes off for a few days, but the codes and the symptoms are always the same. P0101 and P0104. I removed the MAF and cleaned it, but still nothing. When I'm driving I hear a rattle from the engine, not all the time, just when you're kind of coasting along with your foot barely on the pedal. Sometimes it gets pretty loud. It does however, happen more frequently when the check engine light is on. What am I dealing with here? Do I have an air leak somewhere or am I looking at a more serious problem? Did I mess up by not installing a new gasket? Is that my problem? Doesn't seem to be a fuel issue. Maybe spark plugs? All I know is it did not start until I changed out the oil sending unit. Help from people who know more than me would be greatly appreciated.
