One of my doors is locked shut. Help!

I have a 98 tahoe and the driver side passenger door will not open from the inside or outside. The inside handle wont open all the way like the child safety lock is on. The outside handle will lift up normally but wont open the door. Please help, I'm stumped.

Did you try locking-unlocking with your key?

Yes, several times with no luck.

does it feel like the connection rod is disconnected, like, its flappy or anything else?

do the same thing to the passenger one, then paint it orange. be just like them duke boys:hlp:

LOL. These are known to fail on these trucks, not sure why. Its usually an easy fix and most likely your push rods. like mentioned above.

take off your door panel and feel up her.. dont expect any nice titties in there.. haha jk man.. ah but yea take that door panel off and snoop around. going to be pretty hard.. you wont be able to take off the door handle since the bolt is in the jamb.. good luck tho.. maybe try popping off the weather stripping outside of the window (stick a flat head in there and pop it up) take that off then roll down the window and see if you can even see anything in it.

thats gonna be pretty hard to get the panel off as well with the seat and everything in the way.. most likely try your best to lock/unlock the door manually by the lock on the inside of the door - because there is no key lock on the outside.. and see if u can get a friend on the other side of the door to try to open it while you are unlocking it.. if that works take the panel off and see if one of the rods broke.. - it could be the mechanisim that keeps the door shut that peice of metal that couples around the door pin

I bought the truck with this problem, but It's now fixed. When I took off the panel, the rod came off the outside handle and the previous owner had the child safety lock switch on. Thanks for the help guys
