Hi everyone,
I'm writing about a family owned 2000 chevy tahoe with a 5.3 engine. I just took ownership from my dad and I'm trying to work out some kinks. Theres a ticking noise from the engine that never goes away. My dad had the valves replaced and afterwards I did two engine cleaners which have done nothing to minimize the noise.
After my dad had the valves done the oil pump also failed. Had that replaced and noticed the oil pump gauge doesn't stay still while idling. But I'm not sure if thats normal or not.
And the check engine light keeps coming on. An autozone code scan revealed P0442 which prompted me to change the evap canister and gas cap. The light went away after I put a fuel injector cleaner through the system, but now the light is back.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gidders.
