I thought id post my experience here to help anyone who may run into this.
I have a 2007 tahoe z71. Out of nowhere everything in the door stopped working and it wouldnt lock or unlock with the fob. No windows or mirrors worked either.
if you google this you will get the çrap scared out of you with bcm ddm replacement stories.
I thought that was my problem as well. As a last ditch effort i turned on the radio and found that sound was playing through the speaker so all was not lost. I figured that since the speakers get power from the radio then there could be a short or broken wire in the door jam.
That is exactly what it was. A larger black wire had broken. I spliced it and the door works fine.
Im not saying all the module replacements arent justified but in my case it was just a broken wire. Check there first. I hope this helps someone in the future.
