We bought a 2004 Yukon this weekend. The price was right, and I wanted to move up in seating from a Sienna minivan plus have a more useful towing capacity. It's not tricked out, but it will haul 9 people, which comes in handy with 4 girls ranging from 2 to 8. We have issues with hauling friends all the time.

I posted a question in the A/V section about replacing the A/C controller with a DVD player, so if you have any suggestions or caveats, please send them my way! I am certainly interested in fuel-saving tips, so I'll be printing out those threads for DH and I to go over.

I'm hoping to customize this thing to my personal tastes over time. Nothing super flashy, but I'm big on music, so we'll be adding my satellite system and possibly a new stereo...but not till we solve the no-DVD system issue. None of our vehicles so far have had an overhead system, and we're on strap-on headrest system #3. Those are convenient to a point, but take up way too many outlets and I'm sick of the wires. I'm ready for a good OH system, if it can be installed! Otherwise we'll probably opt for the headrest installment.

We had an Envoy for a while and really loved it. I've found that the Yukon drives similar, which I like.

Anyway, thanks for having this forum! It's very informative!

Welcome to the forum Rebecca. Headrest DVD players are a nice option. There are a couple outfits that factory-make them depending on your vehicles interior color/fabric. My Denali has the factory overhead dvd/xm radio/upgraded Bose stereo option which I was after mainly for my kids. Show us some pics and congrats on your new vehicle.

welcome! if you would like tvs and not too costly, its probably better to get a flip down tv with dvd built in with an fm transmitter so that you dont have to change the stereo
