New or used? I have a 2007 LT2(limited trim) with adjustable foot pedals Onstar/XM and leather, new it was 40k out the door. The GMT 900 series(the current body style) is a very refined truck with slight mileage improvements, no you won't ever get Honda Civic millage, as the truck weighs over 5000 LBS The Tahoe is a large safe SUV and dependable and that is why we love them so much. I can't see myself driving anything less. There are many other knowable members here that can fill in the blanks.i would get as much or as new as I could afford as you can't go wrong with these trucks.

good luck tahoe hunting...

Im guessing you would like at least an 07 if not an 08 one since your in the 07+ forum. If you want new. putting you at a 40k limit that would be a VERY nicly equipped lt3. Adding options like NAV, Entertainment system, 4wd, etc. can put you at almost 50k. Before any incentives or dealing of course.

Things to check if you are looking at used. Ask the seller if he broke it in right. IE no full throttle starts, towing, heavy brakeing, for the first 500 miles. If its a 4wd, it isnt a necessity. But it is a good thing to let it be broken in before shifting in to 4wd and offroading with it. Breaking it in properly can bring you ALOT less problems down the road. I babied mine for the first 1000 miles and have had NO issues ever, only brought to the dealer for tire rotations, oil changes, and i flushed the fluids at 30k as i like to keep her running that way. Another thing is did he do all the regular matinence to it.

Give us a little more info on what you want, and we can help you alot more.

RT are you asking the seller to be honest? I don't think they would have any knowledge of break in as even if they did are they really going to be honest about it. I would have a trusted mechanic go over it with a fine tooth comb to be sure.
