Hey, I just got a 97 tahoe and it didn't come with the manual and I was just wondering if there are any certain ways to operate 4x4, I stopped and switched to 4hi on pavement (I know it's bad but it wasn't for a long time, I just drove up a curb lol) and when I turn really sharp it acts like I have a flat. What's up with that? And does driving alittle on dry pavement in 4x4 hurt?

Okay, so I just googled some stuff and it seems like I should be ok, I wasn't driving for many miles, just a couple hundred feet if even that, and I was just tryin to turn from a stop and the two curb climbs, nothing, serious, so I should be good right?

idk if its ok for it but i can say when my rear went in my truck i had to drive a good mile or so with only the front wheels pullin it and nothin happened that was bad, maybe a little extra wear but, i dont think it would hurt, unless u where making the truns and hammerin on the gas, i dont see how it could hurt it

You should try to avoid using 4wd on dry pavement, especially if turning sharply. Wet pavement is only marginally better than dry. You don't have anything to worry about from that one incident. What you felt is normal, and also can happen when on snow or ice, but it's not nearly as pronounced. Just try not to use 4wd on dry pavement as it will tend to wear things out faster.
