Just acquired a 96 Tahoe a few months ago, love the truck except for the fuel consumption but it seems I am losing coolant. When I shut the engine off after a ten mile drive the cooling system sounds like a coffee maker percolating. After reading a few threads here I guess I'll have to put intake gaskets in it along with a new t-stat and the replacement hose connector. I'm assuming I (a back yard mechanic) can complete this job in a couple days as it's my daily driver.
