So my first car was a 1999 BMW 323i and i loved it but it was time for something else, and ive always liked driving big vehicals and figured it was a good time to start looking. I ran across a 2002 chevy tahoe z71. So long story short I traded with the guy and now ive got a 2002 chevy tahoe z71 with 171,000 miles on it. ive already done some work and maintenance to it. and ive got a few questions. first one ive got a P/S leak i cant seem to find, are there common areas where these systems leak from? second my power mirrors and cruise control dont work. any ideas on that?:badger_1:

Welcome to the neighborhood!

How is the steering feel and response? Can you hear the pump whine when turning the wheel sitting still? There are a couple of possible sources; one is the high pressure hose going to the hydroboost unit. They have a tendency to develop leaks around where the hose is crimped into the hard lines, they will ususally be slow leaks allowing loss of just enough to coat everything below them with time.

Another thing to look at is the reservoir, when the pump begins to go bad, often you can hear it when turning at slow speed or stopped and moer than not the fluid will bubble or foam inside the reservoir. This will cause excess pressure inside the reservoir and the fluid will begin to be forced out of a pin hole in the cap (that is there from the factory) The leaking fluid will originate at the cap and will have coated the entire side of the reservoir.

If these check out, inspect the bottom of the reservoir where the high pressure line goes into the pump. Make sure it is tight, and if it is tight and it looks as if it could be your source, remove the line and install a new oring to try and fix it.
