I currenty have a 99 Tahoe with 127,000 miles, 5.7L 4wd, doesnt have enough power to tow well, to a 2000 Tahoe with a 5.3L.
The 2000 Tahoe has 62,000 miles, 3.73 gears and a towing package, needs brake work and a line but otherwise seems good.
What do I need to know about the the 2000 that I dont know about the 99?
Will it tow a trailer alot better then my 99?
Will the gas milage be alittle better? I currently get around 10.
Did I get a good deal for $2500 even if it needs $1000 in brake work ect?
Thanks, Im just not sure I made the rite move but I needed to be able to tow on the thruway and hills better....I hope this one will! Thanks

:welcome::to the forum, and I see no advantage in changing vehicles. Even if the 99 had a 3:73 gear, you would be giving up in my opinion the best power from the 5.7. Gas mikeage is a toss up, it is what it is. $2500.00 is alot for one model year, not counting the brake cost involved. Depending on what you want to tow, if your not happy with the 99 model, go with a diesel, they are tops in towing. Good luck,

One of the biggest reasons for the change is I have 127,000 on the 99, there is 62,000 on the 00. I like the 5.3L better I think. I have only drove one once in a 01 Sierra and it towed my 16' trailer ALOT better then my 5.7L.
