THANK YOU for the instructions!

And pictures! I'm assuming that Yukon is quite similar... This info will come in handy in the future. I may try and "bake my lights" to get the amber out, at some point when I work up enough nerve.

Which halos/projectors did you buy? You better post pics!

Hahah, Snomon after what you've been through with your Halos you definately deserve to see some functional ones on a Tahoe! Can't wait to see the pics! :Chevy:

AAC and Umnitza both said that the glue on these lamps won't loosen with baking like typical headlights. They have to cut and reseal. I assume with a dremel. I'll take detailed pics of the back of the lamps I'm getting back from Umnitza. They will be painting my ambers black just like AAC did in my other posting.

Update on my AAC halos... The dim ring magically "broke in" and is now bright. I still have a non working ring on the other side around the smaller lamp. I decided to cut my losses with AAC and went with Umnitza with my original lamps. Can't wait for them to show up!

And of course if the AAC stuff comes in and is good enough, you can always throw it up on eBay...

snomon, what's the price from Umnitza?

WARNING this mod is for crazy Tahoe owners like me...

$499 for the halos installed + shipping your lamps both ways. Add $50 to black out the amber reflectors. $279 for parts only according to their website. They are located in Concord, CA (NoCal)

Compared to AAC: $199 parts off their Ebay site, $189 installation includes black out + shipping. They are in New Orleans.

Being the only Tahoe to have this mod (in my region anyway): Priceles$

After my experience with AAC, I decided they are a very unprofessional group of people. Their product may be alright, but their service is not recommended by me.

Here's work in progress from Umnitza as of yesterday. They emailed me this progress photo. I will be getting my lamps back next week! They will be taking more photos after their work is finished and during testing before payment is due. Huge contrast in their customer service!

I will be able to show Umnitza Halos to AAC side by side for you guys after next weekend.

The tape shown is holding rings in place while the glue is setting.

Cool. I wonder what they would charge to paint the whole housing black?

BTW, is this a custom order? I looked on there website and did not see a listing for Tahoe halos?

It is a custom order. You have to send them in a spare set of headlamps or plan to not drive for a couple of weeks. I found a set of lamps from Ebay and sent them down. But there are a lot of lamps on Ebay with broken mounting tabs so read carefully.

Call Matt (the owner) or email to [email protected].

Here's work in progress as of yesterday.

Lookin' good man -- Are they going to have Santa bring them back to you, or do you think they'll get 'em finished soon?

They would be done now, except they didn't black out the amber reflectors due to paint being backordered. So hopefully they will show up before Santa does.
