I just got back from installing an overhead dvd player in my Tahoe. Looks good, but my AC is not working, WTF:mad2: . Has this happened to anyone? :mad2: I've checked all the fuses inside/out and no burnt fuses.

Sorry - I'm of no use to you, but I would like to see pics - I'm still deciding which aftermarket DVD to put in mine! :willynilly:

Well here's the full story....
I got back home after getting the DVD player installed at a local shop here in town, I noticed that my ac was just blowing hot air so I called the dude up and asked him if forgot to plug a wire back in of course he claimed he did not mess with the ac.

The next morning I drove over my buddys shop and he spent about 4 hours working on it and finally told me that the dude had hooked up the wires incorrectly and that the dude had fried some body Control Module :mad2: . So I took it to another dude that I know that works at the dealership he hooked up the scanner and said I had 3 codes bascially a loss of commuctation between the PCM and the BCM :mad2: due to someone grounding a power wire incorrectly.

I went back to the audio shop and confronted that dude :fu:. he did tell me he ran into a "little problem". The dude agreed to pay for my repair at the dealership, refund my install, and pay to have someone else install it for me.

Lesson learned: I think I'm going to ask more questions next time I get something done to my car.

I went with kenwood 10inch overhead dvd/moniter combo(the dude burnt the 1st dvd player, 2nd dvd player not working correclty, finally "upgraded to a kenwood, yes hooked up correctly and working, I think, j/k). i wont have time to take any pictures today (going out of town for the Thanksgiving) but I'll get some pictures next week, sorry dude.

So I guess you had to cut off the raised dome light, huh? Are you happy with how it turned out cosmetically?

Also, I'm not sure if you have factory nav or not but if you do, did you happen to run the av out to your head unit (via the lockpick)?

Thanks!

This one has it's own domelight built in. No NAV here. its wired seperately from the radio.

I guess I wasn't clear - it's not the domelight I was specifically concerned with, I know the a/m DVD's typically have one as part of the unit. The factory domelight is raised (actually dropped) from the roof - i.e. it's not smooth - the entire headliner is contoured around the domelight. Putting an overhead DVD would either require that it be fastened to that contour which I think would cause it to be too low, or would require that you cut off the contour. I was curious to know which way you went and if it ended up looking clean in the end.

Thanks, Gonzo - really nice of you to snap the pics while you're getting ready for a Thanksgiving road trip. Although you had problems, the final install looks really clean.

I finally checked out your profile, too - your truck is badass. :cool2: I like your taste, brother!
