Tahoe does not like the COLD at all. Left work this morning at 6am and it was -8. Engine cranked a few times more than normal, then ran rough for a bit. Windshield had some frost on it....made the stupid mistake of trying to use the fluid to get it off.....instant freezing and now I couldn't see at all driving down the road. It had just stared warming up once I got home 2 miles away. And it's supposed to be just as cold if not colder tonight, but at aleast I don't have to work. At least I wasn't on the East side of the state where I saw it was -20 something. Definitely an experience....maybe I need to invest in a block heater.

On taps for today is an oil change...it's due for one and the change engine oil thing is getting annoying. Also gonna change the air and fuel filter....it's only 15 right now and it's 230 in the afternoon. Gotta love this weather.

Also still gotta get that damn grill guard on...Tried a week ago and couldn't get the damn bolts off and haven't gotten around to going to the auto hobby shop on base to use their tools yet.

my tahoe acts the same way! just today the engine light came on, and stayed on. checked it out at autozone, i think it might be spark plugs for me, but i am getting a block heater soon, the pad type you stick to the oil pan i think.

Was the engine block heater an option out of the factory or are they aftermarket? I usually keep mine in the garage, but we're at the lake tonight and only have a 2 car garage at this house, so I guess the new Tahoe will get it tonight. They're estimating 13 degrees tonight and 15 Monday morning. The worst part about it for me is the cold leather when I get in, it seems like the seat warmers take forever when it's that cold  . I never have the startup trouble though, the battery usually seems a little weaker, but it starts up just fine every time!

it was an option on mine, but im not sure on previous years.

but i also have a truck cover, so that helps i think. you should be ok though.

my seat warmers are with in 35 seconds weather warm or cold. i guess its just because mine are newer.

Rub it in, rub in it... . Ha ha, I thought about all the people that post about how well their Tahoes/Yukons handle the winter weather when I saw all the wrecks caused by the 2'' of snow that fell here today. I swear southerners lose every driving skill that they have when they see the first snowflake :yesnod: .

were getting a good storm, but its all much and ice on the road ( i think worse than snow) but the yukon was a dream on the way home tonight, never slipped once, kept it in AUTO 4wd, and felt completly safe, now i went 10 mph below the speed limit, but so did everybody else as it comes down in big chunks that distore vision and its windy. seat warmers were nice the entire way home :D

Yeah, I kept mine in Auto 4x4 the whole way to the lake today (its just about 70 miles), but we've got some pretty bad roads coming out here when the weather gets rough. I was a little bit worried about the '07 since its not 4x4, but it handled it fine. We probably should have gotten it four wheel drive, but as little as my wife drives off of the interstate I figured it was just more to go wrong.

I saw 6 wrecks on I-20, though. You would have thought it was an ice storm or a blizzard :umn: . I'm not one to talk though, I don't know how to handle one in the slow either, I just take my time ;) .
