I took my 99 in to electric mechanic to find out why my truck would turn off after warming up. it was brand new engine i installed and it had no check engine lights.it would just turn off.
i wasn't given an estimate i was just told id be called when they found out whats wrong.
after two weeks i called and they gave me some reasons why they thought it was behaving the way it was.and told me they would call back after they find the problem.
i call a week later telling them i need my truck and if they have had any progress .
they said the wires were burnt near the transmission cause they were too close.and they would repair that.
they replaced my spark plugs.and said my crankshaft sensor was bad and needed replacement.i had told them i had warranty at autozone and i would get a new one.
i did that and they told me it still wouldnt work and that i needed to buy the crankshaft sensor they had.
they charged me 350.00$ to fix the wiring near the transmission replace the plugs and crankshaft sensor.
the price of the sensor was 115.00
spark plugs 62.00
my grand total was 540.50
my biggest gripe is that when i came to get my truck it had a check engine light and sounded TERRIBLE backfire/misfire i asked them what the check engine light was and they said it had something to do with the Catylitic converter .on my way driving i could feel as if it were clogged and my check engine light started flashing.
i told BAR about my situation and i told them i felt like they neglected my truck causing damage to my Cat. keep in mind my truck started perfectly and had no engine light to begin with.
well the shop has called my father and has told him that they would rather make some type of agreement or something so that they would not have to go through the hassle of settling this issue in a court or taking my truck in for investigation.
what should i tell the shop that would make for a fair agreement so we are both happy.
