Greetings to all,

I just traded my 04 Chev. Tahoe w/140,000 miles for a 04 GMC Yukon/Denali, AWD, 6.0. w/ 73,000 miles. It has a navigation system and Bose stereo with XM capability. I believe it is all factory installed, there is a nav disk in the DVD from GM and when it starts it show the GMC logo and BOSE logo.

What I am trying to figure out is how doo I change channels on the XM radio. All it is showing scan channel presets. I need to get the radio ID so I can get it activated, So I need to get to channel 0.

Or could anyone direct me to the where I could locate the manual for the unit? I bought the vehicle through a dealer (Saturn) and thay really didn't much help on the vehicle after the sale.

I consider myself somewhat internet savy, to be able to look up/find what I need, but it is not working to good right now.

Any assistance will appreciated.

This procedure is for an 03 Nav hope it’s the same. You need to turn off the seek function. Tune to XM 1 or XM 2 Select options with the control pad. Using the control pad at the lower left of the unit turn off XM Category Seek and XM Cat Scan. Then select back this will take you back to XM 1 XM 2 then simply hit the seek button up or down till you gat to channel 0. Hope this helps.

I found what you are talking about, I changed both of the choices to off, but still not able to change channels however both of them have a padlock on it. Is there a way to unlock these?

Also, I have done further research into this vehicle. I have found thst the previous owner replaced the factory XM tuner with a Sirius one. I am trying to see if I can find a replacement XM. I have read enough to believe that the Sirius tuner should work.

I don't have a manual on the settings on the radio/navigation so I don't know if there is a way to unlock those settings.

I feel like I am getting closer to a solution... Thanks

Go back to the XM options menu and make sure XM Message is on. Then XM 1 and see if there is a message displayed on the radio like Check XM Receiver, XM Theftlocked Ect. The XM manual supplied with the vehicle new has only 2 pages of information, what we went over and the diagnostic messages. The only way that you could get the 8-digit code that I can think of would be with the tech 2 scan tool at the dealership. XM Category Scan should be unlocked!

Hi. Following this thread, I did not see anyone post a response on finding the Tahoe Navigation owners manual. Bought an 06 with no manuals at all. Got the Tahoe owners manual on line but it really does not address the NAV system. Can anyone tell me where to get the manuals?

Does your NAV unit have the joystick or the touch screen? I have/found the touch screen manual in .pdf. I am looking for the one with the joystick. Let me know if you want a copy of this one.
