Hello List,

I just purchased my first Tahoe (2007) a month ago and I have noticed something that is bothering me.

When I had my lexus I could select the night screen, set my desired brightness, then select my day screen, set my desired brightness, then select auto and the screen would naturally switch between day and night when the headlights were activated.

On my Tahoe if I do same thing it doesnt work. When I push auto after selecting my desired screen brightnesses (I think that's a word) it resorts back to what ever the dimmer switch is set at. The problem with this is I like to drive with the instrumentation fairly bright at night, but this causes the nav screen to become extemely bright. To fix this I have to switch to the preset night screen mode. Then, the following day (when it's bright out) I have to manually switch the display back to either auto or day to see the screen.

Why does Chevy have a day and night adjustment if the screen doesnt automatically switch to your preset desired screen brightness?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Rich

Heh, welcome! I'm with you on the annoyance with that. Also, the backup camera brightness, though it can be adjusted, is not "remembered" depending on day / night setting, which irritates me when I'm backing into the garage at night.

Here's the nav manual. I was literally just looking at this, and didn't realize that you can use voice activation to set things (including day / night mode). Still not fully automatic, but perhaps more convenient.

Later!
