I have the nav. manual (which is basically useless - IMO), but has anyone found a "legend" that details what each icon represents. There are times when so many icons are laying on top of each other that it really doesn't help at all (and I doubt I will ever need to know where to find the post office !!!). Also how did some of these Ma & Pa grocery stores end up on the nav. DVD ??? I still carry my Garmin - so if I want a specific gas station (to use my Shell 5% rebate card) or a specific hotel (say Comfort Inns) I can simply ask for them. I wish the nav system could do this. I have used the nav when I knew which hotel I wanted and the "CALL" feature did work great. The nav system does have the basics, but to be fully functional it needs to have some additional features such as naming specific places.

Sorry ... I kinda took off. GM needs to invest in a Nav system training DVD to help us use this thing to its potential. Until they upgrade (which at least they CAN DO since its DVD based) I'll travel with my Garmin too !!!

BTW - have you checked their website gmnavdisc.com ??? It is worthless !!!:ack:

Yeah, I'm underwhelmed with the NAV kit in the Tahoe as well.
I put a Pioneer AVIC Z1 in my 2000 Jetta TDI a year and a half ago, and I like it better.
I love the TDI. I get 42 MPG in town, 45-50 MPG on Hwy. I can't bring myself to sell it.

TG, was eying (eyeing...sp???) your sig and noticed something peculiar to me... How can you have a Z71 AND a LT3??? Is that possible? Or, it's an LT3, w/ added on Z71 pkg on top? GM REALLY has me confused now!!! :confused2: Makes me think of when I looked up the Ford F150 one time online and they had so many damn options/option pkgs/models to choose from, it just got me frustrated and pissed off... :cuss:  Needless to say, I'm now driving a Chevy Tahoe...:Chevy: ;)

Oh, and that's just amazing numbers put out by the 00 Jetta!!! Turbo-Deisel, correct? If it's deisel, then I understand why... I just came from a trip from Stuttgart, Germany back in Aug/Sep timeframe. The year before that, I was there and rented a deisel Beemer. I was impressed! Nowadays their deisels run just like gas engines--w/ plenty of power to boot!!!

See, I'm old-school. I'm use to having to turn the ignition to "ON" and waiting for the glow-bulb to light up on the older model military 4x4s when I first joined the AF...

yea, on the 07's there is a z71 packedge added to an lt2 or lt3 trim level, its not like the 06 and back with their own trim level.
