Mystery steering wheel controls

I have an 08 Yukon with the steering wheel controls. There are two buttons on the back side of the steering wheel under the radio control buttons that seem to do nothing. The manual does not say anything about them, not even as an option. Does anyone know what they are for?

I have volume controls in behind (toward dash) the stereo controls. You press the buttons on the face of the wheel and pull the volume control ones.

07 is correct.
Those 2 buttons are for adjusting volume louder (top button) or lower (bottom button). I just push them upwards from underneath and they do the job.
They're on the right side , right?
