I have a 97 Ho with a 5.7. I recently had a intake manifold gasket installed by a somewhat trusted mechanic. Days after the work was done I started it up and within second it died, then started right back up, no problems. This is happening when cold or warm engine. It is now getting to the point of happening more times than not on start up. It never did this until after the intake manifold work was performed. Any ideas or suggestions before I take it back to them? Thanks in advance

The best thing to do is to verify this first before you are tempted to throw parts at this. Check threads here and at the Tahoe/Yukon forum for fuel pressure testing. Need to attach fuel pressure tester and see what kind of pressure you have after the system sits overnight or any down time at all. Monitor while running and heavy throttle and then shut off and see if you see a pressure bleed off that could be caused by leaking fuel injection system, fuel pump....etc.

Had the codes checked: P1345 Cam shaft position sensor. Is this something that could have been installed wrong when the intake manifold gasket was replaced?

It is inside the distributor and had to be unplugged to remove the distributor so make sure you check the connections for clean and tight. Sometimes when plugging back in the pins can misalign and a pin can push its mate, in the other connector, out of either holder and cause a loose/erratic connection.

P1345 is Cam/ Crank Correlation and it will require someone with a scantool to begin a CASE learn (GM Tech 2, or some upper end Snap On scanners and the like with 2way communications)....
