Master Cylinder Repair/Replacement

I recently took my Tahoe (2007 LTZ) to the dealership for a fuel pump replacement as it was struggling to crank after some other issues. Of course, the dealership told me of several other issues that I should address. One being that the master cylinder was leaking. They quoted the repair at $992. Of course I have been goggling this type of repair and most sites have it listed at half this price.

What should a Master cylinder replacement cost?

Wow! That's really expensive. AC Delco, Dorman and Centric master cylinders are your cheap options.
