What a great forum this is although I shouldn't be surprised. If people are interested in something there's bound to be at least one forum for it and the exchange of info and knowledge is so helpful and quick.

I kept seeing references to .pdf manuals for Tahoe's and wondered where these came from and hoping I'd see a ref for manuals for my GMC's. A few minutes last night searching the forums and I found a recommendation for MyGMLink.com. A few clicks and a couple of VIN's later and I was registered with both our GMC's under one login. Click on the "Glove Box" link for a particular vehicle and there are the .pdf's for all the manuals and stuff.

Our Yukon Denali XL didn't come with a cargo cover/shade and we'd like one. Once again searching these forums produced a recommendation to try GMPartsDirect.com or eBay. Checking the former returns a part #1527019 for our particular VIN. Retail is $257.08 and their price is over $100 less, not including shipping. Now it's just a matter of weighing a used one off eBay vs a new one. One of our local dealers will order it for the retail and the other is even higher by about $20, both confirmed that part number for our Denali.

So once more, what a great resource these forums are. Many thanks to the hosts and to everyone participating.

I bought the cargo cover from my local Chevy dealer for $89 and it matches perfectly. Try local instead of gmpartsdirect.

I did try local first and they were $100 or more over the online site.

Yep, the forums are really cool! Addictive too...

Look at www.oehq.com . Their prices are literally within a few bucks of gmpartsdirect.com, and they have FREE SHIPPING on orders over $100.00. Also, I think you might be missing a digit on that part number (but I could be wrong)... ;)

Thanks for the tip. Even with the free shipping they're higher.

You're right about the missing digit. My typo. Correct complete number is 15287019.

Thanks.

Oh well -- always worth a shot checking out the competition on pricing.

Later!

This'll probably be a dumb question but since I've only seen pix of the cargo cover I'd like to make certain it'll actually work in my particular Yukon XL before I buy one. Although both dealers I checked with say it should work just fine.

In the cargo area there are two square indentations molded into the sides just below the windows on each side. Then at the very back just above the upper mounting point for the cargo net is a "J" shaped indentation with a notch in it (the J on it's side). Are these the mounting points for the cargo cover?

Believe it or not I only know of one other person in our circle of influence with a Tahoe, Suburban or Yukon. It's one of my wife's co-workers and she's going to ask on Monday if they have the cover for their Suburban.

Yes they are.

Thanks yet again, JK. And thanks too for your great post about the warranty act. Your info is very reassuring to say the least.

In the meantime I did some more digging on eBay (it's amazing how specific some searches have to be) and found 9! brand new covers with my part # for $35 plus shipping. I also found a bunch more new and used at various prices and numerous pix including some closeups. So I bought one.

Good job! With this forum and other shopping sites like eBay, a consumer need not be "uneducated" or make any hasty / poor decisions. Look at all the money left in your pocket!! Cool!!!
