I think I have read all the threads regarding mufflers/exhausts and it seems most who choose Magnaflow went with 12589 and a few went with 12909.
I have a 2008 Yukon Denali XL. Looking under the car, I noticed the stock muffler is offset/offset (and the plumbing is 3.5" diameter). I'm sure my local muffler shop can install 12589 or 12909 (center/offset), but wouldn't it be better to use 12578 which is offset/offset? All the other specifications between 12589 and 12578 are the same. The specifications for 12909 are also the same except the in/out are 3.5" instead of 3". Are there performance/sound differences between these mufflers? I would assume the performance/sound would be the same since they are all 22" bodies.
I have all ready installed the GMX550 lockpick and K&N CAI, just need to get the exhaust installed and I am set - until I get another bright idea and more $$$ (thinking of adding a digital TV tuner).
Thanks for your help!
