Hey my first post here although I've been lurkng for a few months....

I just bought an 07 Suburban on 22's. I hate the wheel well gap in the rear, as I've found a lot of you do, so I would like to lower it. Probably 2/3. But I have 3 questions.

1) I work for a dealer, and the shop that the sales dept. buys wheels from and lowers/lifts vehicles uses Ground Force kits. Which seem to sit and ride nice as I've driven several Yukons, 'Burban's and Escalades that they have done for us, all on 22's or bigger. Any thoughts on this kit? G/F part #9977

2) I race motorcycles and have a 16' enclosed trailer that weights approx 2500lbs empty... sometimes upto 5000lbs if I take 3 buddies, bikes and gear with me. Is anyone here towing that much weight with a lowered truck?
I understand that I need a weight distributing hitch, but I would like to sort out which (if any) drop I buy first so I know the ride height when ordering the hitch components.

3) My old truck had a cheap brake controller in it and I would like something nicer to suit the new truck, any sujestions? Brand? Model?

In for the answer too. Discount tires said the tires depending, are the thing that will blow with heavy loads if they can't handle the weight.

No so much worried about the tires as they have a 2470lb rating and tongue weight is only 10-15 %. So fully loaded the trailer only adds 500-750lbs to the rear of the truck, and the weight distributing hitch will offset some of that... with a 5600 lb curb weight split over 2 axles = 2800lbs per axle + 750lbs for the tongue weight = 3550lbs. leaving approx 1390lbs available over the rear axle for people and cargo(which should be in the trailer in the first place).

I was more interested in the suspension and lowering components....

Thanks for the comment though.. it did make me double check the load rating of the tires.

this is how you tow...

http://forums.peddersusa.com/showthread.php?t=166

The owner took this beast out west through the mountain to Yellowstone National Park almost effortlessly. With the OE coils in place that was not the case. Working with the Service Department at Brain Harris Pontiac Buick GMC they developed a solution for the customer's issues. The issues were lack of performance & too much rear spring sag with the trailer in tow.

Pedders Towing Package for the GM T900 2007 and Newer

7424 Raised 10mm HD Towing Front Coils $ 109.83 Each
7425 Raised 10mm HD Towing Rear Coils $ 109.83 Each

9587 Trak Ryder Foam Cell Technology HD Rear Shock. This unit is an oil and foam construction for HD use with trailers and loads. $ 175.00 Each

GM Part GM Gear Set 4:10 GM Part Number 12479056 $ 710.00
Synthetic Differential Fluid Fill

Based on real world owner evaluation the Pedders HD coil ride empty is indistinguishable from OE. The difference with the vehcile loaded or with a trailer is night and day. Contact your GM / Pedders Specialist to Pedderise your GM T900 SUV.

Have you considered any air suspension products?

Not as of yet. I've ordered the Belltech kit part #1210. 2" spindles and 4" coils (comes with a 1" spacer in the kit so you can do 3 or 4" drop). I will be using a weight distributing hitch so I'll see how she sits and tows from there. If I need to then I'll look into some sort of air suspension.

Way cool, spent some time in Victoria last July for the BMX World Championships. Most of my vacations are spent at races of some sort, including some AMA and MotoGP. Take care and best wishes this season.
