I'm planning on buying a used tahoe (07+) within the next month or so and I'm wondering if there are any problems i should be aware of when shopping. Any known problems with the 07 compared to the 08? I like to stay away from the 1st yr models, but know a few people with 07 yukons and have had zero issues. I considered waiting for an '09 due to the 6spd, but I really can't justify spending the extra coin when I can pick up a clean '07 for much, much less.

I'm currently looking at a clean '07 LTZ Graystone metallic, NAV, DVD, with 33k miles and think I can get it for $24-$25k. I could be wrong, but it seems like a great deal to me.

You are buying a LTZ so this would not be a problem. DO NOT, NEVER buy the cloth seats. They are lint magnets!!! Well, unless you want to use a lint brush to get those off every once in a while. GM has no solution to fix at this time.

Other than this I had no issues. I tell you. These are fine trucks!!

This is really only the black cloth. I have the cashmere cloth and have had no problems with excess lint. As far as general problems go, there doesn't appear to be any major problems for any of the model years. There are a few minor things, you can check out this thread if you are interested in reading about those.

oh forgot definitely do carfax on it. it is worth the $30.

one owner, 2yr lease and it shows that it was serviced regularly (approx every 3-4months) for oil changes. it has the 2nd bench and 3rd row buckets, but i can live with it. I was hoping to get 2nd row buckets and third row bench. Not a big deal since we'll have two car seats back there anyway. ;)

They make a third row bucket?????? hmmmmm

I'm not 100% on the 3rd row buckets, I guess it could be a bench, but appears as though they are buckets. Either way, I originally wanted the 2nd row buckets but can live with the bench given the price I'll be paying.

Yeah it's kinda like that, it's 2 seats only and there's like a magazine rack in between, and a small gap in between the two seat backs. You could fit 2x4s or skis between them. It was $100 cheaper than the 3 row, I think, and the option is supposed to be removed in 09.

No offense but you just can't see. I can see better b/c it's black. They all have excessive lint issues regardless of the seat color as it is made with the same fabric. Try wiping w/ a lint brush. You'd be surprised.:brsh1:

i have them and REALLY LIKE THEM, their captains chairs, just a bit lighter than the ones in the middle, very nice, so i can only seat 6, but INCREDIBLY comfortably.

well, the LTZ mentioned above is out... went back this evening to test drive it and it had been sold a few hours before. Another question i have is, is it easy to install the OEM Navi if not equipped from the factory? By the looks of it, it seems as though it's a "plug and play" upgrade.

There are a couple LT's that I may check out. They are basically loaded with every option but Nav. Thanks for the info.

None taken. Mine don't have a problem with lint, I'm not blind. Perhaps I wear less linty clothes than most...

I really wanted a used 07 but couldnt find one that i wanted under 35k.

At the time, GM was running 0% and i got supplier pricing. I like to convince myself on good deals, so i figured it out this way:

Truck had 25k on it, x this by .25 a mile = 6250 (just figuring wear and tear, tires, etc..)

35k at 6% interest = ~6k in interest.

Plus figured 2k for an extended warranty (required for used, not required for new)

So you could pick up a 49k truck up at 0% for what the used truck is really costing you :yesnod: (Yeah, the wear and tear may be off, but whatever it takes to convince myself)

That is the way i look at it.

If you can get an LTZ with low miles for under 30... that is a pretty good deal.

Hell, even taking out the wear and tear, you are still talking 43k you would be spending total... I think the 0% really makes a difference (unless you are paying cash.... then this is all a moot point)

Good that you don't have problems. Mine is just horrible. Maybe b/c my two dogs are in it all the time.

Anyways, I have been meaning to ask you this question. I am considering a set of headlamps. How's your PIAA Xtreme White Headlamp? Are you satisfied with it? Better visibility and brighter than the stock halogens? If you have pictures of lighting against a wall, can you post some pictures?

Thanks.:inc:

what options are not possible with an LT versus the LTZ pkg? I'm looking at an LT that has Leather, Nav and DVD, so what are the differences between a loaded LT and Loaded LTZ?

the Z at the end. All LTZ does is give you the little options standard that would be an option on an LT, like power fold seats, rain sense windshield wipers, power lift gate, and some other stuff. Nav and dvd are options on all of them, i think the only option you cant get on anything but an LTZ is the power running boards. other than that its just the Z at the end.
