The only SUV that I have owned was a Toyota 4Runner and am looking to get an SUV with a little more room. I love everything that I have seen about the Chevy Tahoe, but don't see much difference between it and a GMC Yukon. Have also looked at Ford Expeditions (don't like them), Nissan Armadas (nice, but heard that are not as highly rated as the Chevy Tahoes), Infinity Q56s (very nice, but a little pricey), Cadillac Escalades (very nice, but again pricey), Lincoln Navigators (very nice, but again pricey) and Toyota Sequoias (very nice with great ratings, but again pricey). It seems like you get the best bang for your buck with a Chevy or GMC, especially right now. Don't know what kind of rebates they are offering right now on Chevy Tahoes, but very interested in finding out. Also interested in the difference between a 2008 and 2009 model, if any. And if there are any major differences between the LS, LT, LTZ and Z71. I want to do this right and get what I want. Probably want one fully loaded. What am I looking at price-wise for a 2008 versus 2009 LT for example? So many questions, I know.

.

from what i know the 09 has a 6 speed auto trans and the 08 is a 5 speed i think and alot of folks on here say the 09 6 speed was a much needed improvement.

The 08 are a much better deal price wise my boss just bought a 08 denalli brand new for 38k in arkansas 2 weeks ago the rebates are great on them right now . the 09's they are not dealing on as well yet i would think the 6 speed would only make a difference here if you where towing with it

but im sure other members who actually own these new ones will chime in on this

the tahoe and yukon are the same for the most part other than looks wise

Best place to check out the Tahoe is at chevrolet.com. Current rebates are there also.

Not much diff 'tween Tahoe and the Yukon except front & rear end styling unless you're talking about the Yukon Denali which is kind of an Esky wannabe.

Carmax is a good place to see what used ones are going for.

If your looking for an 08 i would go with the denali. You get the 6spd transmisson and the bigger engine, awd and there fully loaded. If it was me i would stay away from the 4spd if I could just because I know the problems they have and I have had problems with 2 of mine over the years.
