Aloha Hoers...

Iʻve gota ʻ99 tahoe 2dr 4x4, about 197,000 miles. Iʻm looking into replacing much of the minor replaceable parts. Including shocks, fuel pump, bumpers and perchance the engine. My question to you guys is this:

What engine should i consider, crated of course.

what shocks?

After market fuel pump?

Bumbers. Unfortunately I was involved in a minor 3 car fender bender where the guy in front of me just decided to stop in the middle of the road, wtf?! Anyways, though maybe going to a Pick-a-part to get the bumpers, but wasnʻt too comfortable with that...

What say you guys? Any input is appreciated

Mahalo

theres so many options for crated motors out there. the basic 350ci crate, then you can go all the wya up to a 572 crate.. its all on your cashmoney situation you have going on. P.S. are you from Hawaii?? bcuz if so man good luck with shipping charges to there.. lol.. its about to be freaking expensive.. but yea google chevy crate motors and tons of places will come up.. anywehre from 2 grand to 35thous will get you a turn key crate...
is your truck lifted, lowered, or stock height? shocks depend on that one..
monroes are good, ive heard about rancheros, bilstein are really good, gabriel?, i mean the list is endless..
i have no experience with fuelpumps of aftermarket for my tahoe, only on my 80transam....

Well, you looking to keep it stock or you want to upgrade?

They offer an exact factory replacement GM crate engine for your truck if you'd want to keep it stock. Otherwise, what are you looking to do with it?

As for shocks, some of the lifted 4x4 guys around here would know more about that. I know bilstein shocks are pretty good.

Iʻm in Los Angeles... actually... so the shipping thing wont be terrible. The truck is stock height. Ironically, i had been looking at photos of other userʻs riders, and found this guysʻ ride. My truck looks exactly like this one.. rims and all. the only difference is that i have side steps on mine.

I have to say, this forum so far has been a gold mine of info. Especially the thread of the sluggish engine. I"m hoping itʻs the fuel pump that is the culprit. When iʻm ont he highway, and going up a hill, my truck becomes very sluggish, like itʻs going to sputter out. then when iʻm on the backside of the hill, or level road, itʻs fine... Oh and forgot to ask if you g uys have had experience replacing interior door handles. Mine was nice enough to snap off... So I need to replace that as well :( . Currently My plan is to keep it stock.. iʻm not racing or doing serious thrill rides with it. I occaisonally use it on my cousins ranch, (underline occaisionally). I do mostly minor hauling, surfing, outrigg paddling etc...

r u serious? they tend to do this? whatʻs the main cause of that? Iʻve had my mechanic check it a few times and even with the "check engine" light tripped, they say they fix it, but it keeps reoccuring.

For door handles, eBay is your friend! Lot's of eBay stores sell them. Just sort through the 100's of them until you find the best price combined with shipping. I just bought a complete set of brand new exterior lights (all of them) for my Yukon, $118.00 delivered!

Check out the bay!
