looking for a used Tahoe, need advice

I'm looking to buy a used Tahoe for somewhere under $12,000 and was wondering if there's any years or common problems I should watch out for when looking around?

Also, can anyone give me a rough estimate on how many miles is "too many" when looking at used Tahoe's. Obviously it depends a lot on the individual car and upkeep, but a general guideline would help give me a starting point.

Check carcomplaints.com. just to get an idea of what common problems to look for

My 2001 has 257k on it with no problems other than typical wear items.

My yukon xl has 360k and it's great. Just listen for unusual noises or anything out of the norm
