Lights on Bottom of Mirrors?

Hey Guys. I noticed that there are lights on the bottom of the 07 Tahoe mirrors, on my LTZ. I gotta say, I have no idea what these do or what they are for. When do they light up? Anyone know?

They light up when you unlock your car.

Puddle lights, and they've been put on many vehicles over the years--especially GM full-size trucks and SUV's (more before, until they decontented many models and gave them only to top trims).

They're for, essentially, what the name says--shine some light down on the door area and below so you can see more in the dark where your door handle is, if there's anything (like a puddle...) you don't want to step in, etc.

I have them on the '04. If you go thru your computer options you can have them turn on or not, so check there to see if you have yours switched off.

Talk about a waste of.. um light. Even if theres a puddle you gotta step over it to get in anyway.

i love mine. give me some extra lights. but i had the dealer switch out some wireing so that when i hit unlock my fog lights and DRL's turn on. so i have plenty of light when i unlock. plus the LEDs in the puddle lights really add a nice blue glow and help you see the truck better.

I have heard them most often referred to as courtesy lights. . .just a little bling thing to woo your next date. . .they are a nice touch, i like em

They do not turn on when you open your door. (I guess you should have seen the puddle as you pulled up)

They do turn on when you unlock as you approach your Tahoe. (To see what may have accumulated while you were away)

They are 194s so switch to LEDS when you buy rear plate lights
