Lift gate Headache

I have a 07 Tahoe LT. My liftgate used to work occasionally but now it doesn't work at all. Its weird because I cant even hear the motor engage when you hit the liftgate door latch. I have been looking at some old remarks but still cant figure anything out. I could definitely use some ideas.

do you have the switch in the locked position?

Yes I even tried replacing the switch. But still nothing.

What he meant was is the switch by your rear view mirror flipped to the "off" position?

I checked the switch near the rear mirror. Then swapped it out to double check. I still cant figure out what to do. Can i pull the panel off the liftgate while the door is still closed? Because the rear door still wont open.

I have the same problem with my 2003.
Ideas?

i had the same problem with my 2007 ltz. i brought it back to the dealership because it shouldnt have passed safety they took it in and it turned out to be a connection under the rear panel was corroded or dirty cant remember which. hope it helps.
