Ok i was wondering what the best leveling kit was without effecting the ride too much. ive looked on the internet and called several local shops and everyone is going to say theirs is the best and wont effect the ride quality. i have the Z71 package so the ride is a bit rougher anyway. Also how should i level it. i know someone here has a 2" in the front and 1" in the rear. Dont know if im going to upgrade tires now, so i want something that will look ok with the 265's on there now, but have the option to go 285 in the future:clapping:

See my post on 9/13 in this thread:

After I installed the front 2" kit from Tuff Country (spacers), I felt the rear was too low.

If you have autoride you may have to add 1" rear spacers or you can monkey (read: trial and error) with your autolevel sensors to raise the back up.

I decided to leave the sensor rods alone and add Suspensionmaxx 1" spacers.

Other people I know on the forum w/o autoride did not need the rears.

If I had to this over again, I would recommend the Rancho Quick Lift because the ride and the height is adjustable.

I would recommend staying away leveling kits. I ran into a problem with them. The problem was that the studs that holds the struts to the body were breaking off. 27 out 27 tahoes with the same leveling kit were broken off. Unfortunately I no longer have the pictures with the broken bolt/studs. But I have attached a picture of the kit to stay away from. I not sure what the brand is but stay away from similar kits. I do recommend the Rancho Quick Lift.

I found them, actually I had a co-worker email them to me. These pictures don't show the broken off studs but this is what happens first and then they break off. I have a buddy with a Toyota Tacoma, he has a similar leveling kit on his ride and the same thing happened to his truck.

Great Post! I'd better go check to see if the studs have loosened which makes sense they would snap if it saw impact loading.

Those looks like nylocks and they still exhibit looseness... wow.

Do these snap even when tight?

But I was thinking about changing over to the quick lift anyway to improve the ride.... 27 of 27??? ouch.

Not to brag but I have pretty good mechanics. The vehicle that they first noticed it on had come in for an oil change.
