Hey guys just thought I'd post up on here I got a 2003 tahoe lt 4x4 105k miles. I bought it from my parents so its been babied and runs and looks like it has 50k on it. They have always changed the oil every 3k miles. It probally will need a good 100k maintence check up what all needs done? Plugs, seafoam, fuel filter, trans flush, anything else? My plans for it are mileage for starters. I had a 95 LT for a short time and loved it. I am not new to modding vehicles, I have a 300 awhp wrx and have had 3 mustangs and a lightning. As far as mods here is what I'm thinking...

CAI- maybe ebay brand, summit racing?
Cat-back- dynomax/flowmaster
Programmer- Which kind there are sooo many? Diablo, hypertech, bully dog?

That will probally be it for mods just starting out. I read where blackbear does mail order tuning I am really just looking to break into the 20mpg hwy club as it gets around 15mpg now. I know there are tons of programmers I had a superchips x cal 2 on all my fords and loved it. Just curious what all u guys prefer. I am trying to budget as much as possible so just give me some options and we can go from there thanks in advance guys.:cool2:

Congrats on your new ride!
If it hasn't been done already, I'd at least change the plugs, fuel filter, trans filter, air filter, and check all fluids. Might even be a good time to flush and bleed the brake system and fluid, as brake fluid absorbs moisture over time and becomes less effective. Clean the throttle body also and the air bypass passage in the upper left corner of the tb. Gunk builds up and can cause slight idling issues. Lube the steering and chassis components also.
As for mods, a good custom pcm tune will make a huge difference. A good exhaust system and cai will help some. Along with the pcm tune, a corvette servo for the trans and a shift kit will help with tranny performance, and help keep slippage to a minumum, reducing wear.

Im sure a custom tune would sqeeze out a tad more hp but really I'm looking for cost/power/mpg. I have had mail order pre loaded tunes on programmers and while they are conservitive they are better than stock ecu map. What are my options as far as tuning? Like I said I plan on the basic breather mods to open the tahoe up and need to compensate with timing/fuel.
