Hey guys, I just bought an 07 White Tahoe and am thinking about tinting the fronts. I was leaning towards tinting the fronts at 30% bc I live in NC and they are fairly strict.

But I would like to see a pic of a NBS White Tahoe w/ either 20% or 30% to see what looks better.

Which would you guys say go with and why?

A good shop should have film that matches the factory tint of the rear windows. I'm not sure what the percentage is, but I had the windows done on my '02, and the match is perfect. I believe that it is NOT 20%...

For me, it's not a matter of which % you should go with, but rather which matches best.

I guess I didnt post my question very clearly.

I am not concerned w/ % nearly as much as what matches the backs.

I dont want the truck blacked out but more or less am concerned w/ the fronts and backs matching correctly.

I'm in GA, and I got tint a few months ago. No problems so far. The shop used 15% Lumar and it matches the factory tint in the back PERFECTLY. So if you want to go ahead and do it, I'd think any good shop would know what to use to match. But it's gonna be 15%/20%

The factory tint in the back is 20%? So if I have the front 2 windows done with 20% it will match the rest?

Thanks

i was told 30 or 35 will match the back window cause the fronts are tinted at like 70 from the factory so 20 will be to dark.

I have 30 on the back and 20 on the front plus the strip across the front and I like the look. You can not see in the back and very little in the front. Lots of sun here in S.C. so it really helps the ac run less and cool faster than without. The factory tint does very little to block heat or uv rays. Make sure you get a film that does. I have a life time warranty from the film co (no fading ,peeling turning colors etc) . It was $300 for every window and worth it.

The factory tint on 07s is as follows: W/S = 70%, front doors = 70%, rear doors = 16%, and rear glass = 13%.

So if you want the front doors to match the rears, you'd need about a 23% tint. (.23 X 70% = 16%) This assumes no losses in the bond layer which there probably is, so a 20% would probably be a near perfect match.
