I don't have a need to buy a full Ipod kit (mount, menu, etc). All I want to do is hook my ipod up to the jack located on the radio front. What kind of cable (size) is required? Obviously it's a male to male but the size escapes me

where is there a quick and cheap way to get one of these? Can you just walk into BB or Circuit City?

Even better, you can get a cable that goes from the proprietary connection on the bottom of the iPod to the mini-jack. A little more money but you get better sound quality. You can find them here, for example:

does this charge your ipod as well? i read up on the website but it did not say anything about that... so i was wondering since you had it if you could answer the question? thanks

No. There is no power coming from the stereo mini jack on the radio. It's an audio input only, so no adapter cable will provide charging ability without having other wires exposed that need run to a power and ground source. That would really start cluttering up the dash area, if you ask me.

You might consider a separate charger that plugs into your cigarette lighter and you can switch it over when you get out of the car (or when you're not listening to the iPod.) Or you can do what I do and take the iPod into the house every night and charge it if it's low. I don't like leaving the iPod in the car for security reasons. I have a garage but there's too much stuff in it and my car sits outside. I might have to fix that now that winter is almost here... :)
