To start off i'm at wits end with my 1995 Tahoe. Just finished replacing head intake and exhaust gaskets plus the minor ones (thermostat etc). This my first attempt at a job this invasive. The tear down was easy but the putting it back together was the worst. And low and behold i'm back to square one. White smoke worse than before. There were no cracks and a shop machined the heads. Here is the kicker when putting the intake manifold back on I put sealer on the gasket, but forgot which bolt went where and it was already late and didn't want to google for hours so I left it with only the weight pressing down. Is it that could be leaking causing the smoke, should I do a compression test or just rip up the manifold and start again.or will it seat itself after a few warmups(wishful thinking) any advice would be greatly appreciated or just lay it on me and tell me to stop being lazy lol.
