I'm in the process of trying to do the necessary modding to install my avic-d3 from my old car in my 02' z71. Upon hooking up wires to just make sure the unit was working ok I found a problem. Unit powers up fine and sounds good until you turn the volume and/or the gains up on the head unit...sound cuts out completely! The unit still has power and everything just no sound. If I shut it down then turn it on again, it will do the same thing. Sometimes it will just quit if I change the key position as well. I'm baffled! :confused2:
My truck has the upgraded 9-speaker DELCO system but no BOSE. I actually hooked up my old interface for the factory bose amp that my car had, but doesn't seem to really be helping. I really didn't think the DELCO unit would have a factory amplifier anyway...?
If anyone has any ideas/suggestions I would really apppreciate them!
