They are one of the few lower impedance speakers available and I have had decent luck with infinity in the past. Went down to the local ultimate and picked up a set of the ref6022i 6.5" 2ways for $80 and was going to install them tomorrow but I got bored. Quick and easy install and I also laid some extra sound deadener I had around the speaker since I have some small rattles I'm trying to shake down. Wired to the stock bose amps the infinitys do quite well until you crank them up. You can tell the bose amps are **** once you get to around 75% volume but they are much cleaner and image better then the stockers. I also lost some rattles and hopefully some road noise as well. After the install I realized how much I need kick panels and some diamond d9 components or some kicker ss'. What is everyone running for components on their truck? I have had good luck with kicker, diamond, and focal but haven't tried much else lately. I would definitely recommend the infinitys for anyone looking to retain the stock head unit as the stock speakers measured 2.4ohm on my multimeter and the infinitys were 2.6ohm.

I'm using Infinty Kappa components on a 300 watt Alpine V12 amp. They sound good. I've used Focals, MB Quart, Kicker, and Earthquake components in the past, and the Infinity Kappas I have now sound just as good as the MBs and Focals.

How is the tweet on those? I've had good luck with the diamonds but had to tune out alot of the brightness when I was running a kicker sx500.2 on them. Who makes good kick panels for these trucks, the q forms any good? I was going to build some but I glassed over the set of q forms I had in the old truck and they sounded great. Thanks for the help dude, always helps to ask an installer.

The highs aren't too bright. I'm running the tweets -3db to the mids. At first I had the jumper on the xover at 0db, but switched it over to -3db and it sounds good. The Q-form kicks are ok, just a little thin for my taste. You got the right idea about glassing over them. Once in a while I'll get a customer that doesn't want to spend too much on custom kicks from scratch, so I'll just order some q-forms, stiffen them up a little then wrap 'em. Sounds like you have a little autosound experience yourself maybe?

Yeah I have a little experience but I'd rather pay people to wire most my stuff at this point, I'll still build my boxes and glass stuff because I'd rather it was done correctly and ported to the right frequency (I'm a nerd with all my enclosure design programs). Good to hear the infinitys aren't too bright, I had a hell of a time getting my diamonds to sound good playing metal. I might run the infinity comps based off the impedance, seems like I could run a crap load of power to them and keep the gains down so they sound nice and clean.

The Infinitys I have are just the Kappas. I did a comparison of the Kappas and the Perfects, and for the money, the difference wasn't noticeable enough in my set-up to spend the extra cash. But these are much better than the Reference series though. What else are you running?

I built a quick 3.5cf ported box for a kicker L7 12 I had laying around last weekend but I still need to order an 1/0 wiring kit and a peripherals speaker level input to wire up a kicker zx750.1 I have. I know the stock bose can't keep up with that loud of a sub but I'm planning on ordering an eclipse 2din navi for it with my commission check. The eclipse is reasonably priced and it has 2 slots for cd/dvd/etc and another for the navi rom disc. I wish I could afford a unit with built in hard drive but I don't have the funds at the moment. I'll be using my sx900.4 on whatever components I buy as well as the references once I move them to the back (with the gain real low for the rears). I still have to buy all the nice interconnects but it should sound real nice for the initial build. Once I get the highs sounding the way I want I was gonna do 4 10's or 1 12" solo x in a sealed enclosure with a zx2500.1.
