My friend just installed my Bi-Xenon kit today. He hit me for $500 b/c he said the new GM's needed resistors. Does this sound right?

Whoa. I hope that included a super-duper kit as well. Sounds pretty high, and I dunno what he''s talking about re: resistors. The pricier kits come with a harness for the connections to the battery and stuff, but no resistors... :confused2:

I know. I paid $250 installed for the kit in my Tacoma but he said the new GM's require some sort of resistors. Not sure if he was reffering to 07's or 08 but I trust him. He said the bi-xenon kit is $75 more than the regular kit and $500 is installed with a three year warranty.

So, that was for a bi-xenon kit, pro install, and three year warranty then? If so, that's probably not too bad a deal... I mean, I paid $300.00 for my kit alone (1 year warranty, did install myself :eek2:). Important thing is NOW you can SEE! :D

WHEELMAN322,

Where did you get your HIDs done? I'm planning on coming up to NJ for the Thanksgiving holiday to visit fam. I'm in the Mt. Holly/Ft. Dix/McGuire AFB area...about 20 minutes south of Trenton. Is your friend a pro shop installer? Did he do a great job? You have my interest peaked! Post pics soon! :clapping:

That seems like a good price. I bought my single filment HID kit for $300. I was able to get Bi for $400. 2 hour instal, at $60 an hour... I say that's a pretty good deal, especially with 3 year waranty. All my friends that use bi-xenons have always had a problem with them burining out fast... So since you have the waranty it'll be nice if you have problems just to drive there and say "fix it". I have just standart single filment HIDs. They are brighter than most people's halogen brights, so enh... doesn't matter to me. It's pretty bright in my city all the time, so I don't even know when I'd use my brights.

Sorry for the late reply....I don't visit as often as I'd like but....I won't recommend the shop that did the install b/c I do feel like I got robbed. I was in a hurry and impulsive as usual and could've had a friend do it for much cheaper a couple of days later but....I always want it done NOW.

Yeah...All of the other cars I've done was at a similiar price. I was just hard for a bi-xenon set and went to the first place i knew had them in stock. Won't be doing that again.

^ Yep...that's the usual price for a standard kit.
Bi xenon means low adn highs

Btw when're are the pictures
Been slackin' on the pictures b/c I haven't waxed her yet. I bought another car and have been tied up with that for the past few weeks. If I don't wax it soon...I'll have it done by my guy and take some nice hi-res pics.

Thanks, but I still feel like I got robbed. It's there loss anyway b/c I usually do 6-10 cars a year and spend lots of money doing so....They'll never see another buck from me.
