Hi all,
I have a 2008 Tahoe LTZ and the other day, the rear view mirror (the inside one, center front windshield) fell off. I've replaced them on older vehicles without all the "stuff" attached to it and what I assume is an antenna/thermometer grid build into the windshield.
What's troubling me is that there is a rock hard piece of what I guess is adhesive where the metal "puck" attaches to the windshield. Behind that old adhesive is the aforementioned grid.
Anyone have any experience with this? Can I take a razor to remove it without damaging the window grid? Any sort of solvent that might help loosen it up? Or are my worries unjustified... just go ta scraping and cleaning with alcohol after?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
